The Battle of Craney Island in 1813 prevented the key port cities of Norfolk and Portsmouth from being invaded by the British during the War of 1812.  The Hill House in Portsmouth is commemorating this pivotal event by hosting a War of 1812 Day and the RSV is seeking volunteers who would be willing to share about civilian life during the period with visitors to the historic home.

All volunteers would be required to be in period attire appropriate to the time of the War of 1812 (1812-1815) and willing to speak with visitors.

The courtesy of your registration so that we can know how many volunteers are available is requested by June 15, 2024.
